dc.description.abstract The study aims to identify the parasitic species and determine their parasi-tological indices in indoor cats (Felis catus) from the municipality of Chişinău. The parasitic species identified in the examined cats were assigned to 4 classes, 6 families, 8 genera, and 9 species. The class Conoidasida comprised Cystoisospora felis (8.99%), T. gondii / H. hammondi (5.62%), and Sarcocystis spp. (1.12%), with an overall prevalence of 15.70% for this class. The class Chromadorea was of the greatest bioecological importance and was represented by Toxocara cati (13.48%), Ancylostoma caninum (6.7%), and Toxascaris leonina (4.5%), confirming the predominance of nematodes. Of the class Cestoda, only Dipylidium caninum (2.25%) was identified, indicating a low occurrence of cestodes in the cats examined. The class Arachnida was represented exclusively by Rhipicephalus sanguineus (1.1%), reflecting the sporadic occurrence of ectoparasites in the study population. Overall, the total prevalence of parasitic infection was 39.3%, demonstrating the predominance of species belonging to the class Chromadorea (27.0%), followed by Conoidasida (15.70%), Cestoda (2.25%), and Arachnida (1.1%). en_US
