dc.description.abstract This study explores the evolving landscape of academic publishing in the digital era, with a particular focus on the challenges faced by the scientific community in the Republic of Moldova. Through a comprehensive survey of 539 individuals, the paper investigates perceptions regarding predatory publishing, institutional support, national policies, and the structural barriers to equitable access to legitimate publishing platforms. The findings reveal a high level of concern about the prevalence and impact of predatory practices, a lack of coherent institutional and legislative support, and significant financial and informational barriers to international dissemination. The paper calls for systemic reforms, including policy development, funding mechanisms, and targeted training programs to promote ethical, inclusive, and transparent editorial governance in Moldova’s academic environment. en_US
