Abstract:
Capitalism has reached an all time high development in the past quarter of a century, as a well known repercussion, everyone is exposed to the tempting convenience of consumerism. This concept has been negatively affecting industrial design and its practices by disparaging the amounts of resources that go into maintaining mass production, subsequently posing a serious threat to the environment and the future of our societal norms. This research intends to address the global and local issues in regard to the negligence of product use and manufacturing. There will be pinpointed what the most disregarded waste is that could be reused or recycled in new innovative ways, which would amount to great improvement towards the optimization of the industrial market. Solutions that are being developed will be explored and dissected to understand why excessive consumption is hard to combat and why it is imperative to be mindful of the day to day use of any object and any service, as we are responsible for the wellness of our environment.
