| dc.description.abstract | Genome map creation involves the placement of Peptide encoding regions on an organism's genome, which is easy to do when the peptides' amino acid sequences are known. However, this is not as easy when the structure of the peptides is not known. Peptide sequences can be deciphered from a sample by Mass-Spectrometry (MS) in tandem with peptide sequencing algorithms, but often they provide too many sequences without the possibility of selecting the correct one. This article explores the possibility of using genome-based filtering of the peptides to choose the most plausible peptide encoded by the organism, which also is biologically plausible. Genome-informed peptide Sequencing offers an universal way to filter our non-biologically plausible peptide sequences for prokaryotic organisms and build a pipeline for converting MS spectrums into genome maps. | en_US |
