Abstract:
In the context of the effective development of digital cadastral plans, the use of GIS software plays an essential role in the management and analysis of spatial data. The present study aims to compare two of the most popular software used in cadaster (older versions): MapInfo and QGIS. Both solutions have a variety of tools for creating, editing, analyzing, and viewing geographic data, but differ significantly in functionality, interface design, and associated costs. Exploring the interaction between these software, we will analyze their strengths and their use in other areas such as: urban planning, natural resource management, etc. Moreover, the study will evaluate their adaptability to modern challenges in geospatial technology, including data integration and visualization. Ultimately, the decision to use MapInfo or QGIS will depend on several factors, including available budget, project complexity, user experience level, and particular needs.
