Abstract:
A radiographic image is a summation shadowgramm, it is a twodimensional representation of a three-dimensional objects. The latent image is produced either directly by the X-rays that pass completely through the object and reach the film. However ,not all of the X-rays pass through the object-some absorbed it. In fact, it is the differential absorption of X-rays by different body tissues that forms the basis for using radiography as a diagnostic tool. Hip dysplasia is a common inherited orthopedic problem of dog. Abnormal development of the structures that make up the hip joint leads to subsequent joint deformity. Dysplasia means abnormal growth. The disease is hereditary, and current data suggest a major gene theory. Diagnosis of hip dysplasia is commonly based on radiographic findings in largescale screening of dogs. The dog is deeply sedated to guarantee adequate muscle relaxation.
