Abstract:
This article explores the fundamental role of engineering in the development of the circular economy, highlighting how engineering solutions contribute to transforming waste into valuable resources. Modern technologies such as smart waste management systems, mechanical and chemical recycling, as well as bioengineering applied to biodegradable materials are analyzed. In the applied part, the article presents a case study on the Recycline initiative in the Republic of Moldova, which transforms recycled plastic into sustainable furniture, demonstrating how engineering approaches can support a green and efficient economy. The examples and technologies mentioned highlight the importance of collaboration between engineers, policymakers and industry in building a sustainable future.
