Abstract:
The evolution of data storage technologies has created a pivotal decision point for organizations: selecting between SQL (relational) and NoSQL (non-relational) databases. SQL databases, characterized by structured, schema-driven storage, excel in handling complex queries and ensuring ACID compliance, making them suitable for transactional systems. In contrast, NoSQL databases prioritize flexibility, scalability, and high performance, catering to unstructured or semi-structured data. This study examines the architectural distinctions, performance metrics, and practical applications of both technologies, offering a comprehensive analysis to assist organizations in aligning their database choice with specific operational requirements.
