Abstract:
Planify is a domain-specific language that addresses key challenges in floor planning, thus having a crucial impact on efficiency in architecture and interior design. The purpose of this article is to explore Planify as a language designed for intuitive floor planning, catering to both experienced professionals and amateurs. It aims to offer a low-hardware, easy-to-use alternative to complex software like AutoCAD or 3DsMax. The paper investigates industry needs, language’s grammar and syntax implementation, and how it simplifies basic modeling and object placement. Furthermore, the project provides solutions for simplifying workflows for architects, interior designers, real estate agents, and amateurs. It explores the impact of such technology on computational design and suggests means by which Planify can enhance the floor planning process. Finally, the article discusses the impact of this technology on computational design, its potential to enhance floor planning, and the challenges that can be turned into opportunities for both users and developers.
