<summary type="text">Modern technologies for the extraction and modification of dietary fibers from agro-food by-products
BARBAROȘ, Maria-Marcela
Dietary fibers are essential structural components of the plant cell wall, playing a major role from both nutritional and technological perspectives [3,4]. Classified into soluble and insoluble dietary fibers, they are associated with important physiological benefits and functional properties relevant to the food industry [4]. Agro-food by-products, particularly fruit and vegetable pomace, represent valuable yet underutilized sources of dietary fibers [1]. This article provides a critical overview of the main types of dietary fibers, their plant sources, and the conventional and emerging methods used for their extraction and modification. Conventional chemical and thermal extraction methods are widely used to obtain dietary fibers from agro-food by-products; however, they may lead to polysaccharide degradation and loss of functional properties. In this context, emerging non-enzymatic technologies, such as ultrasoundassisted extraction and microwave-assisted extraction, have attracted significant interest due to their higher efficiency and reduced environmental impact. The study evaluates the influence of three extraction methods-conventional extraction, ultrasound-assisted extraction, and microwaveassisted extraction-on the physicochemical characteristics of dietary fiber concentrates obtained from fruit pomace. The results provide a scientific basis for the sustainable valorization of fruit processing industry by-products as functional ingredients for food and nutraceutical applications. Chemical, enzymatic, and physical methods (ultrasound, microwaves, pulsed electric fields, supercritical fluids), as well as processing technologies such as extrusion and thermal treatments, are analyzed, highlighting their impact on yield, structure, and functionality of dietary fibers [1,2,5-7]. Within the context of the circular bioeconomy, the need to develop sustainable technologies that enable efficient valorization of food waste and the production of high value-added functional ingredients is emphasized [1,2].

Carotenoids are valuable bioactive compounds with strong antioxidant properties; however, their application in food systems is limited by low stability and reduced bioavailability. Liposomal encapsulation represents an efficient strategy to protect carotenoids and improve their functional performance. In this study, carotenoid-loaded liposomes were characterized in terms of particle size, antioxidant activity during in vitro digestion, and storage stability. The obtained liposomes showed particle sizes ranging between 144.87±3.17 and 205.28±2.48 nm, confirming their nanoscale structure and suitability for food applications. In vitro digestion revealed a higher antioxidant activity for encapsulated carotenoids compared to the free extract during both gastric and intestinal phases, demonstrating the protective effect of the liposomal system and improved bioaccessibility. Storage stability assessment indicated a decrease in the content of encapsulated bioactive compounds after four weeks, from 80.16±0.87 µg/g to 61.48±1.12 µg/g, while maintaining significant antioxidant potential. The obtained results confirm that liposomes act as effective delivery systems for carotenoids, enhancing their stability, digestive behavior, and functional properties, and highlighting their potential application in the development of fortified and functional food products.

<summary type="text">The spread of koelreuteria paniculata laxm. Under ecological conditions in the Republic of Moldova
NOVAC, Gheorghe
Koelreuteria paniculata Laxm. is a woody plant native to China, Korea and Japan. Grows to 8-10 meters in height. It is used for landscaping purposes, and also has honeykeeping properties. It prefers warm, sunny, frost-free, fertile soils, but also tolerates compacted, dry soils and even poor soils. She has a light temperament. Being a rare species in Moldova, the ecological, economic and social benefits of K. paniculata are little known. The aim of the study is to analyse the natural framework in the Republic of Moldova where the species K. paniculata is widespread. The research material consisted in the analysis of parcel descriptions from the forestry offices Olanesti (Tighina Forest Enterprise) and Taraclia (Silva-Sud Cahul Forest Enterprise), where K. paniculata is included in the composition of stands. In order to achieve the aim, the method of bibliographical documentation, observation, analysis and synthesis was used. The studied territory falls zonally in the moderate-continental climate sector, which is characterized by mild and short winters with little snow and warm summers, long-lasting, with a low amount of precipitation.

PLAMADEALA, Ivan; BÎLICI, Inna; TALPALARU, Dumitru
Maintaining apple orchards for the production of apples for industrialization involves a series of procedures to ensure tree health, fruit quality and an efficient harvest. Among the most important steps are the selection of apple varieties that are suitable for specific acidities and sugars, soil fertilization (fertilization, irrigation), training and pruning of trees, disease and pest control. The aim of this work is to identify highly productive varieties for industrialization and to adapt appropriate cultivation technologies that ensure the production of high quality apples adapted to the requirements of the industry. The research is carried out in the south-eastern fruitgrowing area, at S.A. Ghermes Agroservice, s. Saiți, r. Causeni. Renet Simirenco, Granny Smith, Florina, Golden Delicious, Golden Delicious, Golden Resistant, Champion, Pinova, Mutsu, Granny Smith, Idared, grafted on M9 rootstock, planted at a distance of 4x1.2 m, which equals 2083 trees/ha. The orchard is supported and irrigated. The pruning of the trees is carried out according to the planned method, the flowers are thinned with urea, treated with less polluting substances and the plantation is managed to obtain fruit for processing.
