The aim of present paper is to set a perspective where new technologies taken us&#13;
in the educational environment and help students from the Textile field to study Mechanics.&#13;
Based on CBL (Computer based Learning) definition, the learners use the computer in their&#13;
instructional process, gaining its benefits. The impact of technology drives to deeper changes&#13;
in the curriculum, it challenged the point of students’ interest and when they may learn it.&#13;
Also, the CBL advantages allow students to create different relationships between elements/&#13;
subjects of their curriculum (e.g. Mechanics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Informatics,&#13;
Computer Programming). Teaching Mechanics to students from the Textile field, we&#13;
applied the CBL to improve their training process. Using different proprietary and/or&#13;
open/free software, we teach students how to solve and simulate different problems. The&#13;
students will apply their knowledge to solve problems from Mechanics, which will conduct to&#13;
an improvement of students’ learning progress.

The aim of this paper is to present the results of teaching Mechanics to students&#13;
from Textile knitting and clothing technology from Faculty of Engineering, Lucian Blaga University&#13;
of Sibiu. Traditionally, the Mechanics has been taught using lectures, practical classes&#13;
and tutorials and the students learnt to solve problems using classical methods (using&#13;
paper and pencils). Also, the students lean to solve problems using computers and free or&#13;
proprietary software, checking the theoretical and practical results. Using computer in the&#13;
teaching activity will transfer the instructional purpose from the teacher to the student. Using&#13;
the PBL (Problem Based Learning) and CBT (Computer Based Training) strategies will permit&#13;
to students to increase their knowledge and understanding a particular subject, to develop&#13;
problem-solving skills and to develop their specific language and computer/information&#13;
technology (IT) skills.

внутренних закономерностей и специфических особенностей данной индустрии.
