LUPU, Viorica
The article proposes a systemic approach to research data management (RDM), emphasizing the need for an integrated vision of the components contributing to effective orga¬nization, management, and valorization of scientific data. The core elements of an RDM system are analyzed: the regulatory and institutional framework, digital infrastructure, support services, specialized human resources, and collaborative practices. The article highlights that the efficien¬cy of RDM depends not only on the existence of each component but especially on the functional interdependencies between them—connections that facilitate the flow of information, continuity of processes, and system adaptability. In conclusion, the article promotes a dynamic and collabo¬rative model that supports research quality, alignment with open science policies, and the long-term sustainability of data infrastructures.

Effective research data management (RDM) has become increasingly important in rapid scientific and digital development. Libraries, evolving from traditional information access centers into active participants in the research process, are emerging as key providers of RDM services. This study aims to identify opportunities for library involvement across all stages of the research data lifecycle and their role in supporting research activities. Objectives include analyzing user needs, assessing library competencies, classifying RDM functions (policy and planning, data generation and organization, documentation, storage, and data sharing), and formulating recommendations for collaboration with key stakeholders. The findings demonstrate that libraries can provide consultation, infrastructure, and training support, while ensuring adherence to standards and ethical norms. Conclusions highlight that coordination among researchers, institutional leadership, funding agencies, and research support units is crucial for enhancing the quality, accessibility, and reproducibility of research data.

Pentru atingerea obiectivelor Open Data și reducerea barierelor de acces și partajare a rezultatelor cercetării sunt necesare eforturi mari, practici solide de gestionare a datelor de cercetare, conștientizare, consolidare, asistență și instruire.; The key to understanding what can be done to support the scientific community is to study and analyze the real behaviors of researchers. The article presents the researchers’ attitudes regarding the openness and sharing of research data extracted from a larger survey on Open Science conducted among researchers in the Republic of Moldova. The survey included 532 researchers. The results of the survey show that the vast majority of respondents are aware of the benefits and advantages of open research data, but they also mention a number of challenges and fears that diminish their desire to share their data. Achieving the objectives of Open Data and reducing barriers to access and sharing research results requires great efforts, efficient research data management practices, awareness, consolidation, assistance and training.
