Purpose and objectives of the thesis: The purpose of the research is to identify, analyze, monitor, and control risk within companies in conditions where they are subject to diverse risks. In identifying, analyzing, and managing risks specific to businesses, several important pieces of the puzzle are represented by models and techniques that address economic risk, financial risk, commercial risk, market risk, operational risk, and liquidity risk, with particular attention being paid to their behavior during the economic crisis. To achieve this goal, the following tasks have been set: -analysis of the evolution of the concept of risk and the contemporary approach to the concept of risk; presentation of the development of risk management; research and comparison of risk management methods; analysis of risks in the context of sustainable economic development; highlighting the main directions for risk prevention and management in lending activities. Scientific novelty and applied value of the research: The topic covered in this paper is not new, having been analyzed and developed in various works by specialists in the field, as well as by scientists who study and contribute to the economic field, but these results are not always applied. Thus, the topic remains relevant, taking into account the reforms at the central administrative level and the changes in political influence, through new legal, economic, and financial regulations. The study consists of systematizing the basic definitions and characteristics of risk management in economic activity, highlighting the characteristic elements, classifications, and types of risks; arguing the most appropriate principles, directions, forms, and methods of risk management. The theoretical study in this paper can serve as a stimulus for raising awareness of the problem of the multitude of obstacles faced by economic agents in the republic.; Domeniul de studiu al acestei teze îl constituie analiza managementului riscului în cadrul companiei Kastel MIMI SRL, o întreprindere de procesare din sectorul agroalimentar orientată spre export, având drept obiectiv creșterea competitivității, optimizarea proceselor și facilitarea accesului pe piețele premium. Scopul și obiectivele tezei: Scopul cercetării constă în identificarea, analiza, monitorizarea și controlul riscurilor în cadrul companiilor aflate în condițiile expunerii la diverse tipuri de risc. În identificarea, analiza și gestionarea riscurilor specifice activităților economice, o serie de elemente importante ale procesului sunt reprezentate de modelele și tehnicile care abordează riscul economic, financiar, comercial, de piață, operațional și de lichiditate, acordându-se o atenție deosebită comportamentului acestora în perioada crizei economice. Pentru atingerea acestui scop au fost stabilite următoarele sarcini: analiza evoluției conceptului de risc și a abordării contemporane a acestuia; prezentarea dezvoltării managementului riscului; cercetarea și compararea metodelor de management al riscului; analiza riscurilor în contextul dezvoltării economice durabile; evidențierea principalelor direcții de prevenire și gestionare a riscurilor în activitatea de creditare. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that over 600 million people fall ill annually due to diseases caused by the consumption of contaminated food, underscoring the urgent need for rigorous implementation and monitoring of food safety systems. The theoretical importance of the topic lies in the need for the continuous development and refinement of the conceptual and methodological framework of internal auditing applied to food safety management systems. Simultaneously, the practical significance arises from the necessity to identify and utilize relevant indicators and criteria to measure audit effectiveness, enabling organizations to translate audit results into concrete actions for performance improvement and risk reduction. The main objective of the thesis is to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of internal auditing of the Food Safety Management System within an agri-food sector company, aiming to identify ways to optimize it for ensuring compliance, preventing food safety risks, and supporting continuous improvement. The methodological and theoretical support of the research was based on scientific contributions from internationally renowned authors in the field of management system auditing, the review of specialized literature, international standards (ISO 22000:2018, ISO 19011:2018), and applicable guidelines and regulations in the food safety domain. These works provided a solid theoretical framework for analyzing and interpreting the investigated phenomena, contributing to the substantiation of the conclusions and recommendations formulated in the study. The theoretical and methodological foundation of the thesis also relied on the research of domestic and foreign scholars, resources from the global information system, scientific and specialized periodical literature, and the author’s personal observations gained during audit missions conducted in over 65 companies. In order to achieve this goal, the following tasks are formulated: analysis of theoretical concepts regarding integrated management systems and their implementation methods in the food industry; diagnosis of the current situation of the company and conducting a GAP analysis against the requirements of IFS Food version 8; development of an action plan for the integration of the IFS Food standard and the optimization of quality management processes; formulation of recommendations for continuous monitoring and improvement of the integrated system’s performance. The scientific novelty and originality of the results obtained consist in: the practical application of management systems integration concepts to a local enterprise in the Republic of Moldova, the customization of the IFS Food version 8 implementation model within the specific context of Vi Oil Agro LTD, and the development of concrete proposals aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing risks throughout the production chain. The study focuses on the Regina variety and evaluates the interaction between cooling technologies and post-harvest packaging solutions. To achieve the proposed aim, the following objectives were set: 1. To analyze the physiological and biochemical changes occurring in cherries after harvest. 2. To identify and assess the most effective post-harvest practices used globally and in Moldova. 3. To evaluate the impact of cold chain integration and packaging technologies on fruit quality and profitability. 4. To conduct a practical case study on the Regina variety using hydrocooling, forced-air cooling, Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP), and ethylene inhibitors. Research Methodology: The scientific foundation of the thesis was built upon theoretical models and applied methods derived from both international and national sources, including the practical post-harvest and cold chain management experience of Staragro Group. Scientific novelty and originality: The study is among the first in Moldova to combine cold chain logistics with modern post-harvest treatments in sweet cherry production and to experimentally validate their synergy under commercial orchard conditions. Theoretical significance: The thesis contributes new experimental data regarding the interaction between temperature management, packaging environment, and cherry physiology, establishing practical benchmarks for optimal post-harvest treatment protocols. Practical value: The findings can be directly applied by cherry producers to improve post-harvest operations, reduce fruit decay during storage and transport, and increase product competitiveness on export markets through the adoption of scalable, integrated post-harvest solutions.; Scopul cercetării a fost optimizarea lanțului frigorific pentru cireșele dulci proaspete prin integrarea unor practici post-recoltare inovatoare care să reducă pierderile, să îmbunătățească calitatea fructelor și să crească eficiența economică în condiții de producție comercială. Studiul se concentrează pe soiul Regina și evaluează interacțiunea dintre tehnologiile de răcire și soluțiile de ambalare post-recoltare. Pentru atingerea scopului propus, au fost stabilite următoarele obiective: Analiza modificărilor fiziologice și biochimice care apar în cireșe după recoltare. Identificarea și evaluarea celor mai eficiente practici post-recoltare utilizate la nivel global și în Republica Moldova. Evaluarea impactului integrării lanțului frigorific și a tehnologiilor de ambalare asupra calității fructului și a rentabilității. Realizarea unui studiu de caz practic pe soiul Regina, folosind hidro-răcirea, răcirea cu aer forțat, ambalarea în atmosferă modificată (MAP) și inhibitori de etilenă. Metodologia cercetării: Fundamentul științific al lucrării a fost construit pe modele teoretice și metode aplicate, preluate atât din surse internaționale, cât și naționale, incluzând experiența practică a companiei Staragro Group în domeniul post-recoltării și al managementului lanțului frigorific. Noutatea și originalitatea științifică: Studiul este printre primele din Republica Moldova care combină logistica lanțului frigorific cu tratamentele post-recoltare moderne în producția de cireșe dulci și validează experimental sinergia acestora în condiții reale de livadă comercială. Semnificația teoretică: Lucrarea aduce date experimentale noi privind interacțiunea dintre managementul temperaturii, mediul de ambalare și fiziologia cireșelor, stabilind repere practice pentru protocoalele optime de tratament post-recoltare.
